Walter Moras

Walter Moras

  • Biography

Walter Moras was a Berlin born artist who was highly influenced by the atmospheric landscape paintings of Hermann Eschke who he eventually became a pupil of. Moras produced similarly atmospheric paintings focusing mainly on winter scenes and using slightly thicker paint in a more impressionist manner. Moras exhibited at the Prussian Academy of Arts from 1876 -1910. In his lifetime he enjoyed great commercial success and painted exclusively for several galleries across Germany. Moras had the knack of creating a winter view that looked warm and inviting and not cold. His enduring scenes are collected as keenly today as they were in his lifetime.
