  • Biography

RizRizRizz is a renowned painter sculptor and ceramist his artworks has been exhibited in several cities around Europe and Indonesia. He has also upcoming exhibitions around USA.
The works on display consist of his sculptures paintings and ceramics, the figurative paintings you see on display reflects his own memories often evoking feelings of nostalgia.
Through depictions of female figures symbols animals vases, flowers and various objects in soft colors and rough and wild brush strokes Rizz’s work offers an intimate look inside his feelings and life experiences full of drama, trauma, tragedy and comedy all wrapped in one satirical work. Rizz also exhibits sculptures that are adapted from the figures residing in the paintings. These sculptures represents a 3D manifestation to many forms of his anxiousness and formal instincts as an artist-which became the baseline for his creative thought process that is inspired by tradition yet it revolted against their ideal forms.

"Is he naive or a genius? "

On a recent trip to Bali, my friend and I went on a mission to find art for my home in Canggu. I was so inspired by the influx of creative people, that have found Ball and make art in this trendy international com-munity. When we walked into Rizz's studio, I instantly fell in love with his work. His studio was bursting with paintings and sculptures.
The many faces of women stared at me, they challenged me. Who were they? Who was this artist, that can paint with seemingly simple strokes and yet display such complicated emotions? I wanted to be surrounded by these women. I wanted to wake up looking at them. When we met Rizz I realized I was in the presence of a true artist. His passion for his subject and his excited energy bewitched me. He had the same childish/serious quality, that I saw in Basquiat. He makes you ask, is he naive or a genius?

Rizz has the ability to portray a female figure with sensuality and self possession and at the same time he adds wit and cultural intelligence to his subjects. He allows us to see the image as not only figures in a soft toned surrounding, but adds animal imagery and literary prose to show the complicated world, that these subjects inhabit. His heroic depiction of the female form and their challenging gaze is inspirational and appealing. Finding an artist, that had a timeless quality to his work and also represents his local heritage was super appealing. Rizz has a vast knowledge of contemporary pop culture from art to music and film. It was thrilling to discover someone that seemed so familiar and yet come from a place so far away.”
